"Magnolia Bloom" #607

Available $575

24 x 24 acrylic on 1.5” Deep canvas.

Inspired by my husband's Uncle, Dow Wagner’s magnolia tree that blooms stunningly for only a few days. I've been wanting to paint this flower for years because I always feel devastated when these gorgeous blooms get destroyed by the wind. Capturing this beauty on canvas is my way making it “last forever”.

Today was a day of victories and I have to give God the thanks for answering my prayers for courage to finish some of my paintings that I got stuck on many months ago. Painting and creativity is a crazy journey of ups and downs. I know that anything good that comes from my hands is a gift from God!

"The Dance"

SOLD

16 x 20 acrylic on canvas.

Inspired by Seth and Janelle Rollins' first dance. This couples dance was so stunning that I had to paint them twice, and I'm actually working on a third painting inspired by their first dance!

Elijah Tree" #597

Available $850

24x36 Acrylic on 1.5” Gallery wrapped canvas.

Number 6 in my “Elijah Broom Tree” series.

Inspired by the beautiful story in I Kings 19:3-9, where God lovingly and miraculously provides for all of Elijah‘s needs. Elijah had done so many great things for God. Now he is despairing of life so much that he prays to die! But God provides a broom tree to lie down under and some much-needed rest. Then an angel wakes him up and provides fresh baked bread and a jar of water. After Elijah eats, he sleeps some more and the angel wakes him up again encouraging him to “eat because the journey is too much for you”. With the nourishment that God provides, Elijah travels 40 days and 40 nights until he reaches the mountain of God. I love the symbolism and the way we can experience God’s loving care and renewal as we trust in Jesus. He is the bread of life and the living water and Jesus promises “come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”. Only Jesus can satisfy all the longings of the human heart. As I seek Him every day He gives me the strength and provides everything I need to face every challenge!

Thank you Jesus!

This is number #2 in my "Dancing on the Beach" series. Inspired by my friend Esther, who choreographed this dance in response to The Creator of the universe. Esther and I became friends about eight years ago and I asked her if I could paint one of her professional dances she had recorded, but she said she wanted to create something new. So we met at the beach at Fort Loramie back in June and Esther performed this amazing dance with some incredible leaps off of a loose sandy surface.

Sailing" #555. Available $950

Available $950

36x 36 x 1.5” Gallery wrapped canvas.

Yesterday the sun came out after the stormy weather and it reminded me how beautiful it is to weather the storms of life with fellow "sailors" and then get back out on the water to enjoy life together. So much of life involves encouraging each other through the rough times by caring and listening and seeing the "good" in people and helping them focus on all the blessings God has given us to enjoy.

A Plein air painting adventure on North Shore of Grand Lake. Created with heavy application of paint using palette knife and brush. It started out very sunny that morning. But I loved how God transformed the sky into a gorgeous moody atmosphere with the sun bouncing off the storm clouds and reflecting on the water! I was able to finish this painting right before it started raining!

"Freedom Fighter" #577

Available $145

8x8 acrylic on canvas.

Painted with heavy application of paint using pallet knife and brush.

I love watching the Eagles at Grand Lake because they are a daily reminder that our freedom was costly. And I'm very thankful for those served and those who sacrificed everything for our freedom. Including my husband who served in the army over 11 years.

"Protector of Life" #571

Available $950

18 x24 Acrylic on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas.

Thank you everyone who gave me insight for the title!

"Protector of Life" is the title of that hit me the morning after finishing. It feels right because the adult Eagle is protecting life that is precious! Last night I was still pondering a title. I was thinking about "New Life"…

I'm imagining the Eagles nest with a view of Celina's skyline viewed from Harbor Point. From that vantage point, you can see Immaculate Conception's dome, and possibly even the Mercer Courthouse from the height of the Eagles nest. This painting will be on display at Brew Nation (March 5-April) along with many other beautiful, works of art created by talented local artist for the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Mercer County Courthouse.

“Eagles Nest" #560

Available $850

"Screaming Eagle" #493

Available $620

16 x 20 acrylic on canvas

Number 13 in my “Eagle Series”.
I love watching the Eagles and last weekend my sisters and I visited the Hueston Woods State Park eagle that had been rescued. I'm thankful that he was rescued, but I kept staring into his eyes thinking about how God created him to be wild and free. So this painting is in honor of his wild spirit!!!

This is my second triptych in my "Autumn Jazz Series".

"The Dance" #497

Available $600

16 x 20 Acrylic on canvas. no. 8 in my dance series. Playing with colors and bold brushstrokes to express movement of the dancers. My series is inspired by the Beautiful design God made for marriage…bringing one man and one woman together as one, as a lifelong commitment to reflect Jesus's commitment to never leave us or forsake us. I love watching newlyweds dance because their love for each other is so obvious! I love thinking of my love relationship with Jesus as a “dance” where He desires for me to let Him lead and then the dance becomes so beautiful! But so often I resist and try to do it my own way. But when I surrender my will and allow Jesus to lead me… He transforms me and makes my joy complete!

"Rooster" #508

Available $450

16 x 20 acrylic on canvas. I was visiting this “Big Fellow” at my friend Stephanie's a couple years ago and captured some great video footage as my inspiration for this painting. I love the way God designed roosters to protect their hens!

"Chickens in the Barn" #496

Available $390

16x20 Acrylic on canvas. Inspired by my husband's cousin Bruce's chickens. We visited Bruce's farm back in the spring of 2017 and this week I came across that video footage on my phone. So I replayed the video to capture the movement of these chickens. Created with heavy application of paint using pallet knife and brush.

"Sweet Onion" #48

Available $130

8 x 10 Acrylic on canvas.

I saw this gorgeous onion as I was getting ready to make chili, but couldn't allow myself to cut it, because I sensed it was going to be the star of my next painting! I got totally distracted from cooking and started playing with its placement on a plate in the sun. I fell in love with the beautiful reflections and rainbows of color! So I took it to my studio.

As I finished the painting it dawned on me that by design, onions draw out an underlying rainbow of flavors in every dish they are found in. With stem ready to be ignited to set off an explosion of flavor, an onion acts like a flavor reflector. Just as it appears to be reflecting more color than what it alone possesses. Sweet! That's the aura of "Sweet Onion"!

"Misty Morning" #474

Available $135

8x8 Acrylic on canvas.

Created with pallet knife and brush. Inspired by the beautiful reflections God creates over water.

This is no. 7 in my “Misty Morning”series
